We've been proud supporters of the Western, MA focused literary magazine Meat for Tea: The Valley Review for a few issues now. The quarterly publication features great prose, poetry and visual art from our area and beyond, and can be obtained at many local establishments such as FOE Gallery and our upstairs neighbors Booklink Booksellers, or it can be purchased directly from the publisher's website. They're having another fantastic-looking event this weekend to celebrate the release of their Summer 2012 edition. We hope to see you there!

5th Annual Lights, Camera, Youth Action!
This past weekend we had the pleasure of attending the 5th Annual Lights, Camera, Youth Action!, a fundraiser for one of our favorite local organizations, Youth Action Coalition. YAC and their programs create an environment where a diverse group of area youth can discuss their feelings and ideas, feel comfortable expressing them through various media and as a result feel that they're being heard and a part of the world around them. It's a very valuable service, and seeing the youth in the program present their work and ideas it's clear that they excel at it. We got to see a number of them talk about the program and present their work at Lights, Camera, Youth Action!, in addition to stating their intention to expand the program with a dedicated space for their efforts. The event was entirely underwitten (which left-click contributed toward), so all donations went directly to YAC and we hope they're closer to their goal!
